Cross-connection / backflow programs are designed to ensure that the water with which municipalities work so hard to supply maintains its integrity and remains free from the dangers of backflow. Backflow is the reversal of water flow against its normal direction, which can cause contaminants or hazardous materials to enter the public water supply.
